Your Wellbeing In Mind

Harriett Mansell Brown

Hello my name is Harriet Maunsell-Brown. I am a qualified and accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. The Functional Therapist!

I have over 15 years experience working with people with a wide range of mental health difficulties (such as depression and anxiety disorders), and working in the NHS.

My practice frequently entails working with individuals with long-term physical health conditions.

What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - CBT?

CBT is a therapy very much in the ‘here and now’ and its practical stance enables people to learn skills and techniques to help manage symptoms of depression and anxiety. Research supports CBT as an effective therapy for treating low mood and anxiety.

CBT helps people to understand themselves better by providing insight into why we do certain things and how our experiences shape the people we are today. CBT can help people change their relationship with their thoughts and feelings in order to manage their mental health productively.

I currently offer therapy online via video sessions

About Me and My Approach

The Functional therapist approach...

I have worked in many NHS services, both primary and secondary care settings, across England over the last 15 years. I now reside in the New Forest. I have always felt compelled to come back to the New Forest; the fresh air and open space works wonders for our mental health, and my Chinese SharPei (Mimi) would also agree!

I am an optimistic and supportive therapist who provides CBT. I also use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques alongside CBT. Therapy is both an insightful and empowering experience, and I thoroughly enjoy watching my clients develop skills and grow in confidence and capability.

I am experienced in a wide range of anxiety disorders and depression using CBT. My aim is to get to know you and gain an understanding of the difficulties you are experiencing. Together, we can make sense of what is maintaining your difficulties, and explore values and expectations for therapy.

If you are struggling with unhelpful thinking and feelings, CBT can help you to make sense of this and manage these in a different way. Empowering you to live a more fulfilled life!
